EUROSIS Technical Committees

The TC's or Technical Committees represent the Scientific Board of the European Simulation Society, which consists of two levels.

  • The Scientific Board which represents the TC's at the Board of Trustees. This Board, is made up of a President, a Secretary and TC Coordinator, who monitor, direct and manage the different TC's and are elected by the whole of the membership on a triannual basis.
  • The second level consists of a number of TC's, which are represented by a Chair, a Secretary, a TC Liaison Person and a TC EU Liaison Person. They are elected by members in the different TC's only.

The whole structure is set up in such a way that it will be easy for EUROSIS members to contact colleagues in their particular area of research and to react faster with regard to possible future project proposals.

As the EU is looking beyond its borders the structure of this society can be transplanted to other geographical areas of the world, so that future external projects can easily be integrated with the rest of the world. In the first instance, we therefore also look for the same people in the following areas: Middle East - Far East - North America - South America.

TC's are financed by the membership dues of the EUROSIS members.

TC Structure

Each technical committee consists of the following managing board:

  • chairman
  • secretary
  • EU project coordinator
  • inter TC liaison officer

The chairman chairs the activities of the TC in coordination with the society at each EUROSIS conference or project meeting, where the particular TC is involved. He or she can be mandated by the secretary or EU project coordinator for this task or vice-versa.

The secretary keeps notes of the scientific meetings at each EUROSIS conference or project meeting, where the particular TC is involved and will be responsible for the future finances of the TC. The secretary also has as task to post the notes on the EUROSIS web-forum.

The EU project coordinator groups the members of his TC in projects, and functions as the contact person for the members in order to propose projects to the EU. The EU project coordinator reports his activities at each EUROSIS conference or project meeting, where the particular TC is involved. He or she can be mandated by the chair for this task or vice-versa. The coordinator also has as task to post the project information on the EUROSIS web-forum.

The Inter-TC liaison officer provides the results of his TC meetings to other groups and will seek partners from other TC's for possible EU project proposals. The liason officer also has as task to disseminate the project information on the EUROSIS web-forum.
