The aim of the 1st annual North American Simulation Technology Conference (NASTEC) is to bridge the information gap in research and improving scientific exchanges between Europe and North-America. For this reason EUROSIS set up the NASTEC conference, which aims to provide an insight into the latest hot research topics in the field of modelling and simulation. As such every year has another main theme, in order to address the latest developments in the field.

The intent of the NASTEC'2008 event is to highlight some of the new and future hot topics in the field of computer simulation and modelling, which are in the process of becoming mainstream research disciplines

The conference will cover:
Soft Computing Use

This track covers: Hybrid Systems, Learning Systems, Fuzzy Logic, Neural Networks, Probabilistic Reasoning, Genetic Algorithms and applications to medical diagnosis, fuzzy control, image processing, pattern recognition and speech processing, Decision Analysis and Support, Intelligent Signal processing, Granular Computing, Intelligent Simulation, Software Cost and quality estimation, Evolvable Software and Machines, Knowledge Management, Intelligent Agents, Intelligent Simulation, Simulation in Fuzzy Systems, Information Fusion, Fuzzy Databases, Fuzzy Information Retrieval, Soft-Computing related tools, shells and IDEs, Mission-Critical Systems.

Web Computing

This track covers Web-Intensive Databases, engineering of Web-based Information Systems, Distributed Databases, SOA and Web Services, Middlewares, Validation and Verification, Test and Integration, Maintenance and Evolution, Web and Databases Security, Smart Computer Security,Privacy, Intelligent Web Agents, Web and Data Mining, Biometrics, Web engineering, Advanced Web Collaborative Environments, Web social
Networks, Web Intelligence, Semantic Web, Web-based Support Systems.

Virtual Reality Applications

As a result of improved computing applications, graphics and AI, VR applications have now at last attained the level of realism they have sought since the 1990's. This track aims to cover the latest developments in VR applied to pure science, real world applications, training and entertainment.
