Board Games and Digital Games Showreel

A special hands-on exhibition entitled "Board Games and Digital Games Showreel" is envisaged to be held during the conference organised by by Dr. Ertuğrul Süngü and Lecturer Zafer Masalcı from the Digital Game Design Department, Bahçeşehir University, Türkiye. It is an exhibition of digital and board games designed by BUG LAB Junior, first and second year students and BUG Master students. The games were produced by different teams formed within the Digital Game Design classes.


It will be held on the 6th floor of the Faculty of Communication (the same building where the conference takes place)

Dr. Ertuğrul Süngü from Digital Game Design Department, Bahçeşehir University, Türkiye

Ertuğrul Süngü has started his career as a video game critic and as a columnist in LEVEL Gaming magazine in 2008 and still working in this magazine as a writer, editor and editorial board member. In 2015, he began his PhD studies in Bilgi University Communication Department where he wrote a dissertation called “A Historical Approach to Gaming Subculture in Turkey.” He gave lectures at Bilgi University Digital Game Design Department between 2016 and 2020 and at Bahçeşehir Digital Game Design Department since 2019. He is giving courses on themes such as Games and Culture, Games and Narrative, Games and Philosophy, Game Journalism and Criticism, Complex Game Mechanics and Fundamentals Game Design. He is full time Asst. Prof. in Bahçeşehir Digital Game Desing since 2020 October.

Lecturer Zafer Masalcı from Digital Game Design Department, Bahçeşehir University, Türkiye

Server Zafer Masalcı is an architect holding a Master's degree in game design from Bahcesehir University. His master's thesis, titled "A Guideline Study for Designing Virtual Reality Games," offers comprehensive insights into virtual reality and provides guidelines for the design of virtual reality games. With years of industry experience in architecture, architectural visualization, animation, and virtual reality experience design, he currently serves as a lecturer at Bahcesehir University. In this role, he imparts knowledge on various topics such as game development using UE blueprint, level design, in-game lighting design, virtual reality game development, modeling, and animation for games. His research focus encompasses virtual reality, level design, game development, and modeling.
