FOODSIM’2020 (April 5-9, 2020) and COVID_19

Dear friends and colleagues,

it seems that the COVID_19 pandemic and the measures taken against it have caught up with our FOODSIM‘2020 conference organization. This translates itself into the fact, that the Belgian federal government has decreed that large parts of the infrastructure (private as well as public) in Belgium is going into lockdown as well as in the fact that large gatherings of people will be prohibited till further notice.

As we fall within that latter category and we do make use of public infrastructure, this leaves us with the only option possible for the event, namely that we postpone the event to a later date this year. Tentative dates for the postponed event will be from Sunday September 6 to Thursday September 10, 2020. (6 registration and get-together, 7, 8 and 9 conference, 9 and 10 Workshop). The FOODSIM’2020 event location remains the same.

As to the conference organization, we are continuing our work on the Proceedings and the preparatory financial administration of the event itself.

The preliminary programme with all accepted papers is now online

We would like to thank all those authors who have already sent in their papers and would urge those few authors still missing to send in their final papers as well.

Best Regards and our sincere apologies for this disruption to your conference plans.
